Calling all Helensburgh shops and businesses! It’s time to dust off the decorations, unleash your creativity and help transform our town into a sparkling Christmas wonderland!

As we prepare to celebrate the 15th Helensburgh Winter Festival on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November, we’re delighted to announce the return of our much-loved Best-Dressed Window Competition for 2026!
Over the past few years, we’ve been blown away by the imagination, creativity and festive spirit shown by our local businesses. From beautifully traditional Christmas scenes to wonderfully imaginative displays, you’ve certainly helped make Helensburgh look magical during the festive season!
But this year, we’re raising the bar! We’d love to see even more businesses getting involved, with bigger, brighter and more creative displays than ever before.
We’ve included photos of last year’s top three entries for a little inspiration. The question is… can you do even better this year?

How to Enter

Taking part is easy, and we’d love to see businesses of all sizes joining in!

1. Register Your Business 📧: Email Anne at media@helensburghwinterfestival.co.uk to register your business for this year’s competition.
2. Get Creative! Picture Time! 📸 Once your window is ready, simply email Anne again, and we’ll arrange to come along and photograph your display. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to take your own photograph, just send us a good-quality, high-resolution image.
3. Let the Public Decide! 👍 We’ll upload all the entries to our official Helensburgh Winter Festival Facebook page, where the public can vote for their favourites.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase your business, attract attention to your shopfront and encourage people to explore Helensburgh’s town centre during the Christmas shopping season.

Important Competition Dates:

• Monday 30th November: Deadline for completed window displays and photograph submissions.
• Tuesday 1st December: Public voting opens on our Facebook page.
• Tuesday 15th December: Public voting closes.
• Wednesday 16th December: Our three winning windows will be announced!

Prizes for Our Top Three Windows!

The three window displays receiving the most public votes will each receive a small prize as a token of our appreciation for helping make Helensburgh look so spectacular this Christmas.
Of course, the real prize is seeing our town centre filled with beautiful festive displays, creating a wonderful atmosphere for residents, shoppers and visitors throughout the Christmas season!

Our Best-Dressed Window Competition is about more than decorations. It’s about celebrating our fantastic local businesses, encouraging people to shop locally and bringing a little extra Christmas magic to the streets of Helensburgh.
As we mark 15 years of Helensburgh Winter Festival, we’d love this to be our biggest and brightest competition yet!
So whether you’re a returning entrant or taking part for the very first time, we want YOU to get involved!

NO Shopfront? NO Problem!

If you’re a local business without a shopfront, we’d still LOVE you to be part of our festive celebrations!

There are lots of ways to get involved:

• Sponsor part of the Festival and help us bring the Christmas magic to Helensburgh!
• Donate a prize for our Best-Dressed Window Competition or our Schools’ Penguin Painting Competition.
• Make a donation towards the cost of staging our free community festival. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

As a volunteer-run charity, we rely on the generosity of our local businesses and community to keep this much-loved festival going, and your support really does mean the world to us!
