Fiona Jayne
Contemporary Artist
Originally from Lanarkshire, I settled in Helensburgh in 2015 after living and working abroad for over 20 years where I worked in entertainment and latterly, retail management. I always enjoyed art at school, but it wasn’t until 2019 that bought a set of paints and a watercolour pad and painted my first poppy. I haven’t stopped painting since.
In the last two years, I’ve painted all sorts of flowers, but thistles are probably my favourite, closely followed by poppies. I am part of the naval community and enjoy painting boats and ships as they make their way home up the Gareloch. You may already have seen my best-selling watercolour painting, “I’m Almost Home” which has now sold over 150 copies worldwide in its various formats.
I am currently taking part in #100daysprojectscotland2021 with my own hashtag #100scottishthistles.
