Hi, my name is Janice Japp, and I was born and live in Helensburgh.

I have always had a love for all crafts but now I love to make handmade greeting cards, jewellery, knitted scarves/stoles and other small seasonal gifts.

I usually sell my crafts at local craft fairs including the Helensburgh & Lomond Artisans Association (HLAA).

I take my inspiration from the colours of the season from As they are handmade every item will be a little bit different. I use premium quality yarns in my knitting and include gemstones and pearls in my jewellery.

Hi, I’m Stella Irving Photography. I sell Photo Notecards, Mounted and Framed Photographs and Calendars all made up from my work. I have always been interested in photography but since retiring and the change to digital it has almost become an obsession. I like landscape and nature and in 2018 and 2019 was the winner of the Wild Argyll Trophy. I do take pictures of everything and anything. I am a keen walker and get plenty of opportunities. I am a member of the HLAA am usually to be found at their craft fairs. Attending them has provided me with a good local following.

My 2021 Calendar has just launched. All pictures are taken in Scotland and one of a woodpecker was taken through my kitchen window. The calendars are priced at £6.50 each.

Helensburgh and Lomond Carers SCIO

Making a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers

Helensburgh and Lomond Carers Centre has been supporting unpaid carers since 2000. Since then, the Charity has steadily grown, and we are now supporting 500 adult carers and 150 young carers locally.

Our mission is:
‘To make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers.’
This is underpinned by a commitment to place carers at the heart of the organisation; respect and learn from them as experts in their own lives; give them a voice in service design, delivery and review; help them achieve better outcomes, and ensure that services are accessible and effective regardless of their caring situations or personal circumstances.
We have a contract with Argyll & Bute Health Social Care Partnership which is renewed annually and we rely on grant awards from non-statutory funders such as the National Lottery, Children In Need, the Robertson Trust, the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, Lloyd’s TSB Foundation and the Carers Trust. Other funding sources include smaller grants received from a wide range of funding bodies, donations made by carers and supporters and fundraising activities.

We are very excited to be a part of the Winter Festival promoting our service. During these difficult times, it is even more important to come together as a community and support each other.
